Chinatown Portrait

This post is part of Reverb 10, a project that provides daily prompts in the month of December to help you reflect on the past year and set your intentions for the year ahead.

Today’s Prompt: Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you. (by Tracey Clark)

I love this picture of myself, which Jordan took when we were walking around Manhattan’s Chinatown last spring. We’d just had vegetarian dim sum, and we were trying on weird glasses outside a gift shop.  Why do I like it? It captures a moment of genuine playfulness. We were happy, exploring. To me, this picture says: This is an artist, having fun in the city; there is an adventure here.

Plus, I love the orange nail polish. 🙂
